A wonderful, brilliant yellow, tiger striped cultivar. H. Matsuoka says: "Medium size. The top leaf is bright yellow like 'Kinbotan', then the color turns to solid green. Found in Kishiwada City, Osaka Prefecture, Japan in around 1975. This had two names, i.e., 'Zuiun' and 'Kagerou' before the registration. The flower is very pale yellow." In 2021 neofinetia.com.ua said: "In this plant, the flowers are yellow, but not intense in cololur, but rather creamy. The trunk and roots are brown, but the tips of the roots are yellow-green. The junction of the leaf with the trunk has the shaspe of a month." Elite Orchids say: "‘Zuiun’, translated as ‘Auspicious Cloud’, is a tiger variety with standard sized leaves and broad tiger markings. It is one of the only Neofinetia species on the Japanese ranking chart with a true yellow-colored flower. The flowers, unlike the bright colored hybrids, have a pastel yellow. The flowers open up mostly white, then change into pastel yellow over the period of a week. The top leaves also have a golden tiger variegation glow. These are very lovely plants! Vigorous grower." |
