Vanda falcata 'Higashidemiyako'

A narrow leaved cultivar with white marginal variegation on the leaves that is blurred into the green background. Mud coloured root tips. Discovered in the Kyoto Prefecture, the name means "east side of Kyoto". It is a vigorous plant.

H. Matsuoka says:

"Slender leaves, tenzae white fukurin, unclear boundaries between the variegation and green background because slightly nori wo hiku. Sometimes shows benikuma in cold season."

New World Orchids say:

"Neofinetia falcata Higashidemiyako (“Eastern Kyoto”) is a great first shima-striped fukiran as it is relatively inexpensive and fast-growing. Higashidemiyako is a standard sized fukiran with typical white flowers that occur in summer. As with many fukiran, the leaves are the star of this variety with creamy yellow margins and dark green centers making it a focal point of any collection year round."
