Purple pink flowers with purple dots. This is my first year with it, so it is still a rather unknown quantity. I got it from Harveys Garden Plants
and their label says: "New Toadlily. This form has purple-pink flowers with darker spots. Flowers September - October. Shade 70cm." Writing on Dave's Garden in 2008, Tamara Galbraith said: "Another problem with toad lilies that has recently been discovered is Tricyrtis Floral Virus. The disease seems to have spread from the Tricyrtis 'Raspberry Mousse' hybrid, and can cause an unusual blotchy color to develop in infected plants, mostly the purple-flowered types." Promesse de Fleurs say: "A superb selection with burgundy red flowers punctuated with white spots. This Japanese perennial, with a very exotic appearance, is nonetheless a sturdy and hardy species that displays a unique and delightful flowering in the freshness of the undergrowth. Its flowers, resembling small speckled lilies, appear in late summer, carried by flexible stems adorned with beautiful glossy leaves. Very long-lasting in humus-rich and moist soil." |
