Streptocarpus 'Texas Hot Chili'

A strong red flower. I was given a leaf by a friend and it has grown well. On one of his early web pages (1999), Ron Myhr says:

"This cultivar, hybridized by Dale Martens, has a compact growth habit and an unusual brownish red color."

It has been widely distributed by Dibleys, their website says:

"This is a compact variety with unusual deep red flowers with a yellow eye - small flat faced flowers.

In 2020 Dale Martens wrote on facebook:

"Strep 'Texas Hot Chili' is the result of self-pollinating S. 'Joker', then I took the smallest and self-pollinated it. That was around 1997. "
