An American cultivar with deep, rich, ruby-red flowers. I found it troublesome to grow and it seems to be dropping out of the trade despite its astonishing colour. Pernell Gerver says: "This streptocarpus blooms almost year round. Its tubular flowers are rich red and are held on slender, leafless stems. Its long, strap-like leaves form a handsome, large rosette. An easy-to-grow gesneriad. " In 2003 Dibleys said: "Very deep red flowers; rich and velvety in appearance. Medium green foliage. A new variety bred in America. 2001 introduction." |
