A delightful chance find in the 'reduced' section of a garden centre. Stachyurus seem to do very well in the mild moistness of Cornwall and I have been meaning to add one for some time.
This was a perfect opportunity to plant one of the evergreen species. Bluebell Nursery say: "(Willow-Leaved Stachyurus) New to us, this is an elegant evergreen shrub with long, narrow dark green leaves and pendulous clusters of creamy-yellow flowers covering the branches in Spring. A very beautiful shrub best suited for a sheltered position in sun or dappled shade. Can be grown in a large container. |
