A compact growing cultivar making good mounds of growth. Distinctive rosettes with a green centre and red outer leaves. Raised by Mark Smith in the UK
from a cross between S. arachnoideum and S. ruthenicum and introduced in 1970. Horst Diehn said: "pink - red leaves with long white eyelashes, very vigorous, quickly forms large cushions". Craigiehall Nursery say: "A popular plant, 'Rosie' has rosy-pink leaf tips on light green, downy-haired rosettes. The best colour is during spring and summer. Forms solid rosettes that make good mounds. A reliable, easy grower we have grown for over 30 years and still recommend." |
