A pale flowered form of the Tongue Orchid. I bought a small plant in the autumn and was surprised when it came up into flower.
It has now died down, the pot has been allowed to dry out a bit and I am hoping to see it again in the autumn. An old selection of the species that was distributed by the nursery of Col. J. A. Mars at Haslemere in Surrey. (I have a copy of their catalogue from 1966 which includes a number of hardy orchids but no mention of the Serapias). |
