A short, almost shrubby cactus from the provinces of Santa Cruz and Chubut in southern Argentina. Very cold tolerant here in a cold greenhouse but it prefers more sunshine that I was able to ensure.
It is part of the Opuntia complex and eventually I got fed up with them spiking me and parted with the whole prickly clan.
