Primula hirsuta ssp. valcuvianensis

A reecently described taxon (2013) that seems to be settling down as a subspecies of P. hirsuta.

Guido Brusa says in his Flora Insubrica blog:

"The locus classicus is Monte Nudo, in the province of Varese, where it grows on the Dolomite cliffs (Potentillion caulescentis). Other sites are known for the mountain massif to which Monte Nudo belongs and for the Campo dei Fiori massif, where it grows at the highest altitude (approx. 1220 m a.s.l.); The lowest altitude, approx. 500 m a.s.l., it is on the Dolomite cliffs of Monte San Clemente."
