Polygonatum x hybridum 'Betburg'

28th April 2006 16th May 2006 21st May 2006
A distinctive form with purple stems, the foliage emerges brownish and retains the colour until about the time the flowers open, when it fades to green. It is a smaller growing and slighter plant than my clone of P. x hybridum.
Selected by Isbert Preussler collected from a population around the small village of Betburg, near Laufen, Sulzburg. He gave a division to Beth Chatto and she distributed it.
