The only species from North America. This one is decidedly not to be eaten, a sting in the tail of the Berberidaceae. Emetic and purgative. Large shiny green leaves and white flowers.

Impressive in flower, it has filled a large pot and now it needs to be tried outside.		Large fruits and easily grown from fresh seed.
