Podocarpus salignus

3rd February 2009 23rd November 2013 28th February 2018 31st January 2019 14th August 2021
This lovely small evergreen was planted about 20 years ago, so I was surprised I hadn't included a picture before. When I planted it, I was sure it was P.macrophyllus ( because that is what I was sold it as) but recently a friend pointed out that it looked more like P. salignus, and on reflection I am inclined to agree. Either way, I has been incredibly slow growing but always beautiful.
A Chilean species that is threatened by habitat loss in the wild. As it has matured it has become a very beautiful tree with ornge peeling bark.
