Pinguicula grandiflora "Dark Leaved Form"
A dark brownish red leaved form of Pinguicula grandiflora that I photographed in the Pyrenees in 1981.
I think it was a genuinely dark leaved form rather than a matter of freak growing conditions. Nearby plants
were perfectly normal. It shows the wide variability of the species in the wild, which is not often
represented in cultivation, because of the ease with which the plant propagates vegetatively from established clones.
