Pinguicula agnata East of Vinder, Victoria.

8th July 2008

A young plant that I got earlier in the year, but which didn't survive winter temperatures ( -5deg) in the greenhouse.
It is probably a collection of P. agnata var. tamaulipes. Plants in cultivation were distributed by Mr. Fuchs from Linz Botanic Garden in Austria, deriving from a collection by Alfred Lau. The original label is not easily legible but is thought to say "Eastern from Cuidad Victoria" (Tamaulipas). I keep the label on my plant as it was when I was given it, to avoid making assumptions.
P. agnata is not knownn to occur in Tamaulipas apart from this single reference on a label, so there is some uncertainty remaining.
