An excellent medium sized shrub. I have always grown it as a form of P.forrestii, but I understand that modern wisdom treats it as a hybrid. Well....whatever.... It arose as a seedling at the base of a plant of P. japonica in Sunningdale Nurseries and received an Award of Merit from the RHS in 1973. The other parent is assumed to be a form of P. formosa. |
