Phlox subulata 'Purple Beauty'

A low growing form of Phlox subulata that makes a good carpet in an alpine garden or trough. I grew it for a few years but neglected to feed or propagate it.
Eventually it ran out of steam.
Unfortunately it is one of those plants that falls between the cracks of the horticultural archive. It is too common to have its history recorded by the alpine specialists,
not common enough (or new enough) to be worth patenting, too old to have left an internet pixel-trail. Hopefully its origin isn't lost, but I have looked and not found it.
