A very rare species of Petunia found in the Serras de Sudeste in southern Brazil. Discovered in 1987 growing in cracks in sandstone towers. An expedition in 2007 found only 14 plants remaining (Wikipedia).
Fortunately it has proved very simple in cultivation, coming easily from seed. The main risk is that it will be allowed to hybridise with other plants in cultivation and the pure species gets lost.

Robbie Blackhall-Miles writing in the Guardian (30th July 2015) says:

"It was introduced to British cultivation in 2014 by Derry Watkins of Special Plants Nursery. She managed to source some seeds from the USA where it had been brought into cultivation from Brazil by Joseph Tychonievich. Watkins, realising that this plant would hybridise easily with other petunias, vowed never to grow bedding petuniaas whilst growing little Petunia exserta, thus keeping the seeds she supplies pure."
