Pelargonium triste

A widespread species in the Cape of South Africa. It has a large tuber that allows it to survive the dry season. The feathery, carrot-like leaves spring almost directly from the top of the tuber, but a longer flower stem emerges from them, carrying a head of greenish yellow flowers with purple markings. It is strongly night-scented but I grow it in the Agave house, and I am rarely up there after dark, so I have not noticed.
