Pelargonium exstipulatum

25th August 2016

A small growing shrubby species with slightly sticky leaves, flowering from April until December if the weather permits. Found naturally in the Klein Karoo near the tip of South Africa, between Ladismith and De Ruth.
It has been tolerant of winter here in a cold greenhousel. It is damaged as the temperature drops but manages to regrow rapidly in the warmth of spring.
