Paphiopedilum appletonianum

I'm not sure why I have got this, and I'm not sure why I'm showing it. I can't really grow Paphiopedilum
and this one is doomed.
Paphiopedilum appletonianum has a wide range, from Thailand north into China and will possibly tolerate
cool conditions. I was given this plant, and I think the previous owner had been testing its tolerance to
reduce it to this state. Warm summers and short winters indoors might allow it to recover but I'm not
filled with optimism.
