Paeonia cambessedesii x mlokosewitschii

29th March 2017

A peony seedling that I bought from the RHS gardens at Rosemoor. I think that they may have been grown originally by Cambridge Alpines. The foliage is metallic with rich plum shades and resembles that of P. cambessedesii. The pink flowers also resemble P. cambessedesii, so I assume the seed was collected from P. mlokosewitschii, otherwise there is little sign of its involvement. Planted in the new herbaceous border where I hope it will establish and confuse later generations of seedlings.
