12th October 2015
A very early flowering cultivar raised by F. C. Stern, the parentage is recorded as 'Gloaming' x 'Jewel'.
The Springbank Nursery catalogue for 2005-6 describes it as:
Salmon pink uncrisped segments. Long strong stem with up to 12 florets".
Awarded a Preliminary Commendation when shown to the RHS in 1965.
11th October 2018
11th September 2020
I seem to have two clones under the name. This one is very early, flowering reliably at the start of September.
9th October 2019
This is the second clone. I cannot tell them apart in appearance but this one always flowers three weeks later than the first clone.
The cultivar is described as very early, so I assume the first clone is the real thing and this is a very similar imposter.
The later flowering plant is slightly more crisped at the tips of the tepals.
