Magnolia fordiana

A few years ago I acquired three young plants, almost by accident. One I gave away, one I have lost track of and the last was eventually planted in the garden
where it seems to be growing fairly well. In China it grows in subtropical evergreen broadleaved forest so its tolerance on my comparatively cold and windy garden
is unexpected.
