A gigantic moisture loving species from Argentina, Paraguay, Uraguay and the adjacent corner of southern Brazil.
Wonderful foliage, though the old foliage looks a bit tatty in the winter and isn't easily removed.

Tall flower spikes with scattered flower heads are interesting, the sheer height makes them spectacular.
