The Cobra Lily comes from mountain streams and bogs in northern California, but mostly from Oregon. Like the Venus Fly Trap, it is aching for the proliferation of new cultivars, but so far
the differences between clones are so slight that even the painfully obsessive will be disappointed. The only distinctive form is the anthocyanin free 'Othello' which is spreading through
collections with all the speed of a retreating glacier.
