Dahlia imperialis

A giant dahlis species that really deserves a protected position outside. I am looking for somewhere suitable.
My plant is a Crug Farm collection, BSWJ 8997 from the mountains of Guatemala.

Initially I grew it in the Agave house to provide some protection, but it was too dry. I moved it to my propagation house
to recover and it has been there ever since. As the new shoots come up they are cut off and rooted and the old plant given away.
It was only meant as a stop gap measure while I arranged something more suitable but it has gone on for rather longer than I intended.
Even in the propagation house, where it continues to grow through the winter, I haven't seen any flowers.
