When I was a child, my earliest gardening exploits could be reliably covered with Pot Marigold seedlings. I suppose anything with big golden flowers from childhood is going to
be a favourite, so I plant it at every opportunity. I often use pastel colours and double forms these days, but I am quite delighted when they turn single and golden in later years.

I had hoped that it would look after itself in the herbaceous border, and it seems to have managed, so I am pleased.
