A Japanese grex name to cover the hybrids between Calanthe discolor and C.aristulifera.
It seems to be vigorous and hardy. The Calanthe hybrids that are appearing on the market now seem to
be much more vigorous and successful in cultivation than the traditional species that have been available.
If possible it is worth buying them in flower. This one is quite variable. Most I have seen have been pale pink
but there are some with darker colours and brownish tepals as well.
They are all lovely, but some of them are lovely in a way that would not be recognised by a small child.
