A very beautiful lilac flowered form (publicised as 'blue' because we are, after all, both colour blind and stupid) which is good enough to survive
its own hyperbole.
A seed raised strain from Japan, I wasn't expecting flowers this year which accounts for the rather distorted shape - it arrived rather late in the season.

There are suggestions that these plants originated from a blue flowered plant discovered in the wild in Wakayama prefecture on Honshu
but firm evidence does not appear to have been located.
