A tuberous species from the Himalayas, there isn't a lot of information available. It occurs in Bhutan, Nepal, northern India and just about makes it into south China.
A few tubers have appeared on the market, probably from Indian sources. It has pink or white flowers in habitat but I when I was given it I was told that it was yellow!
It has grown slowly for a couple of years, but I wouldn't call it happy. The leaves are beautiful and don't really match the description in the Flora of China.
