Astilbe 'Amerika'

Out of the corner of my eye I am watching the slow arrival of Astilbe into the garden. I didn't think I was doing it deliberately
but every spring seems to produce a few more.
This came to me as 'either 'Amerika' or 'Amethyst'...' and I am inclined to believe it is 'Amerika'. It is currently growing in a pot, but will go out as soon
as a suitable place becomes free.

First introduced in 1908, the original raiser is not known and there isn't a clear description of the cultivar from the time. There is some variation
in the plants in cultivation.
