This is a big coarse perennial, but in its season it is quite magnificent. For a number of years it has wandered around the site in a pot, moving somewhere new every time it got in the way,
but it has now found a permanent (honest) home in the herbaceous border (but it would look really good among the Camellias).

It is a big, thuggish thing. I am unreasonably fond of it. When it is in flower it is the only thing I notice in the border.
