A more delicate looking species than the usual Monkey Puzzle and possibly not as hardy, though it has
been fine here through a couple of harsh winters. I am hoping that it will be magnificent eventually.

Listed as critically endangered in its native Brazil where logging, agriculture and delicious nuts have all played a part in its decline.
It had an unfortunate moment in 2014 when high winds and a loose humus rich soil resulted in a distinct lean but a small stake and a large boot
compressed it back into a vertical alignment. Since then it has grown with enthusiasm.
