Alpinia gloriosa

A friend raised some seedlings from a packet labelled "Alpinia gloriosa" and was kind enough to
send me one. It has been vigorous and reasonably tolerant of conditions here considering
the species doesn't seem to exist (I try to stay out of existential issues nowadays).

It has grown in the Agave house, but it is probably too dry for it in the long term, and I will have to find a space for it somewhere equally warm
but closer to a water supply.
