Aloe erythrophylla

A species from the Itremo Mountains in Madagascar, which perhaps explains its rather ragged appearance in spring. It doesn't thrive in cold weather but it seems to be growing.
In 2013 I was given it in a 2" pot and now it spans a bucket.
I grow it with some overhead shade - I was trying to give it some protection from radiation frosts but as a consequence it doesn't get enough sunlight
to blush red, as it does under harsher conditions.
