Agave mckelveyana

9th May 2015

Who could resist a fluffy little baby like this?
A. mckelveyana grows on high ground in the central part of western Arizona where it skulks among shrubs. It seems to be tolerant of cold and wet in the winter, though I have to admit this is my second try - a batch of seedlings raised a decade or more ago had all gone to aggravate the Dodo by the time I was offered this young plant.
I am convinced it will be a good thing, like modern dance or regular excercise, if only I can stick with it (or it with me).
