a species I have just bought from Trey Sanders at Orchid Botanics. I'm not sure how tough it will be. His description says: "Agapetes saligna, an epiphytic species found in Nepal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh, Bhutan and Myanmar in seasonal forest. Agapetes saligna is a collectable species with its blood red coloured flowers and edible fruits. Plkants can attain 1.5 tall but are usually much less. The caudex, which is a swollen base can grow moderately large. Branches can reach a metre long. The clusters of flowers are produced randomly along the stem and bear several unscented flowers." Plants of the World Online says: "The native range of this species is Nepal to Myanmar. It is an epiphytic subshrub and grows primarily in the wet tropical biome." |
