Ranunculus ficaria 'Ken Aslett'

Ranunculus ficaria 'Ken Aslett' A wonderful sterile white flowered double. Found in Bowles Corner at Wisley in 1993, home to some remarkable and odd variants of garden plants. Named by Chris Brickell after the long term leader of the alpine department at the RHS gardens.

The flowers in the early part of the season have very short stalks and are held below the level of the leaves. They also tend to collapse in wet weather into a slimy grey ball. Later in the season as the weather warms up the stems elongate and the double flowers display better.
