Ranunculus ficaria 'Double Bronze'
This plant can be traced back to Myddleton House, and is probably the form referred to buy E.A.Bowles in
'My Garden in Spring' (1914):"The double form is worth growing, and in ordinary seasons I notice its flowers when those of the hedgerow and meadow are almost over."
Glowing gold flowers with dark reverses, and yet still producing both viable anthers and carpels. It is to be expected that a series of seedlings from it showing slight variation will emerge in coming years.
