Hepatica (maxima x nobilis)
A recent hybrid between the Korean native Hepatica maxima and the common European
Hepatica nobilis. Vigorous in growth, with attractive foliage and large white flowers.
I got it from an Alpine Garden Society Show, but I failed to note who I got it from.
The distinctibe broad calyx behind the flower of Hepatica maxima has been carried forward
to the hybrid, and gives the flower more 'body'.
