A species from Santa Catarina State in southern Brazil, it is probably not very hardy. I was sent a seedling
by a friend who was fascinated by the genus and it spents the winter indoors, where it sulks in the dark.
In the summer it has gone into the greenhouse and been kept fairly wet. This flower has been the result.
