Begonia sutherlandii
Begonia sutherlandii is a wonderful orange flowered tuberous species from southern Africa.
I sometimes overlook it, because I have been growing it for a great many years, but it is reliable and easily
overwintered if the tubers are kept dry. Produces tiny tubers in the leaf axils during autumn,
so easily propagated.
Doesn't seem to vary very much in colour, at least in cultivation. Years ago I tried to cross it with
Begonia grandis ssp evansiana, but didn't get any viable seed. I should probably try it again!
