Asarum lemmonii
At one time this was one of the commonest species in cultivation in the UK, probably because it was being distributed by Bressingham Gardens through the 1980's. Good groundcover for shade, though it prefers some moisture in the soil. Completely deciduous, the flowers are a little dull, which possibly accounts for it falling out of favour in recent years.
The leaves are lush and green, but probably not good enough to grow for their own sake, so you have to
like strange little hairy brown flowers.
