Asarum hartwegii
Asarum hartwegii comes from the Sierra Nevada in California and just stretching into Oregon. I have had this plant for a number of years and am not convinced that it correctly named, the long extensions to the calyx lobes are too long, and should be more reflexed, if photos from American wild flower guides are representative.
This picture shows the evergreen leaves of a plant that I am hoping is the real thing. Flowers expected shortly
to confirm it.
This plant has leaves with pale reticulated veins, but I have seen green leaved and heavily silvered forms.
I was right to be suspicious. This turned out to be a form of Asarum maximum
