Chlorophytum orchidantheroides 'Greenorange'

Chlorophytum orchidantheroides 'Greenorange'
This astonishing form of Chlorophytum orchidantheroides has been distributed in recent years, mainly from Dutch nurseries. It makes a good houseplant, though it occasionally suffers from browning of the leaf tips. I have tried it in a cool conservatory this winter, and I think I have killed it.

Short fleshy orange spikes of dull flowers appear among the leaf bases during winter. I have not yet produced seed from them.

I grow this one on a windowsill, to be sure of getting at least one plant through the winter. It has thick fleshy roots, like most Chlorophytums, so the frosted plant may yet recover.
