I have flirted with the Amaryllidaceae for the last thirty years or so, and one of these days I will have to settle down and start taking them seriously, but in the meantime, I just grow them as I run into them. The only genus I take slightly seriously is Galanthus, and among the venerable ranks of serious snowdrop fanciers I am just a bulbous flibbertigibbet.
